On the can it says "BIG. RED. STICKY." Yep, it's all that and more.
Poured from a can into a pint glass.
The first thing you notice during the pour is the deep, rich amber color. The second thing you notice is the aroma of sweet grapefruit. The hop aroma is right there as you pour and it's putting you on notice that this is not a beer to be trifled with. This is a beer that your average Bud Light drinker would run away from. The aroma alone would scare him off and make him scream like a little girl.
Your first taste confirms what your olfactory nerves have already experienced. You are first hit by juicy, citrusy hops followed by a hint of malt sweetness and alcohol - almost a tease until the next wave of hop bitterness washes it a way when you swallow.
So far, I've loved every other Oskar Blues beer I've tried and this did not disappoint. I wish I'd bought more than one can. I will definitely get a few more cans on my next trip to 99 Bottles up in Federal Way.
Cheers!
