A lot of people have been speculating about which beer President Obama is going to serve at his little mini summit. I've read a few suggestions including Russian River's and Avery's Collaboration, Not Litigation Ale. A variety of craft beers were mentioned and suggested, but obviously, the White House didn't get the message.
It appears that President Obama chose Bud Light for the occasion. Bud Light? Isn't that kind of like serving wine coolers at a state dinner!
Not to mention the fact that while Bud Light is of American origin, it's current parent is Brazilian by way of Belgium.
I suppose there would be somebody with a heartache no matter what was served, but you can never go wrong offering a good craft beer. Personally, I would have served a summer seasonal from someone. Just about every craft brewer out there makes a seasonal summer ale and most are quite refreshing. It seems like it would be just the thing for a warm summer evening.
Whatever they drink, let's just hope they have a good time!
Cheers!
